Morning Light

Frequently, I join with other artists and hire a model to pose nude. I love painting nudes, mostly women. The challenges are always fun to take on. The woman in this painting is shown in profile, covering herself merely with a sheet while staring out a window into the morning light. I particularly loved the way the morning light illuminated through her right ear, highlighted her hair and reflected right through her heel and left foot, and her right wrist. With nudes, there’s always something on which an artist can focus her attention. It’s always fun to find it in the morning light..
