The William Jasper Monument. 9"x9", Oil on Linen.

$600.00

In October 1779, American Revolutionary War hero William Jasper was mortally wounded during the Siege of Savannah, a failed French-American attempt to recapture the city from the British and one of the bloodiest battles of the war. Savannah and its port remained under British control until 1782. Dedicated in 1888, the monument honors Jasper’s heroism both here and at the Battle of Sullivan’s Island near Charleston.
